The Casualties Of The War Of The Fae

This heritage quest starts in the city of Kelethin from Master Bowyer Mossberg. He can be found in the Tunare Pages crafting area on the 2nd floor, around 456 97 357 in Kelethin. Talking to Mossberg you will learn about the Faydark Champions and how they were a great ranger guild. Sadly they were all but destroyed during the great wars but there maybe a few of them left. Your first task will be to find one of them that maybe alive today.

Your stop will be at the mouth of a river in the Loping plains at *locations*. You may have to dispatch a level 55 ^^^ wounded werewolf to make him spawn. Ranger Oast will tell you about how he is still part of the old Faydark Champions; however he can’t tell you much. You will be directed to a captain that is stationed out in Lesser Faydark near the Wu camp.

Captain *name* is located at *location* which is directly *direction* of the Wu camp. You will tell him that his soldier *name* is out in Lesser Faydark and he directed you to him. Captain Trueshot will be impressed and answer most of your questions. This will start you down the path of creating a powerful item called the Rain Caller Bow. It is an amalgamation of the dwarves, elves, gnomes and even the fae that create such a powerful item. Your first task is to gather a number of items to make the bow since it isn’t just some simple thing.

Item List:

  • 1. Spool of Dwarven Wire: Mender Horon Bronzethumb at -258 211 -91 in the Butcherblock mountains. The spool costs 24g and you only need to buy one from him.
  • 2. Two Perfect Micro Servers: These come from the clockwork creations in the city of Klak'Akon.*Note* Unfortunately only level 52+ creatures will give you the update so you will have to head deep into Klak’Anon to find them. If you’re not in a group this can take a long time depending upon your luck. It may take up to 10-20 destroyed clockworks to update each micro server so I recommend doing this part in a group.
  • 3. Bough Moonlight Wood: Spawns at -1008 115 428 in Greater Faydark near the entrance to New Tunaria. Unfortunately it only spawns at night beginning at 10:00 pm Game Time so you will have to do the /time command to get it right. The tree can be harvested more than once if there are several members in your group that need it. *Note you need 245 harvesting to harvest from this tree*.
  • 4. Gold Fairy Dust: talk to Princess Saphronia in the Fae Royal Court Area *387 144 163*. It will open up a quest called “Saphronia’s Request” where you must find a power source for Sir Gearheart.

*Saphronia’s Request*

This is a side quest in the Rain Caller Heritage Quest where you must find a new power source for Sir Gearheart. You will have to make your way to the “Court of Innovation” which is an instanced zone. If you are not level 69+ I strongly recommend taking a group. Upon entering the zone you/your group will have to make its way to the back part where the King of Klak’Anon resides. This is a level 57 ^^^ powerful named mob and when it reaches 0% it will run away. It will run up to the steps to -53 58 -19 in the zone where it will ask the “Master Clockwork Protocol” for more power. The King will get a super charge in power and enlarge by 240% but will still be a level 57 ^^^ monster. After defeating it the king will leave behind a gear that you or someone in your group will have to pick up. When that is done you will now have to face the powerful “Master Clockwork Protocol” which is a level 57 ^^^ monster.

It has powerful single target attacks and a powerful AoE attack so be on your toes. At 10% the creature will say “I have now analyzed all your attacks anything you do is useless and futile” or something along those lines. The basic gist is he now puts up a stoneskin barrier that absorbs any and all attacks. That little gear you picked up is the key to dropping his stone skin. Whoever picked it up will have to target the creature and select use. This will throw the gear at the “Master Clockwork Protocol” and it will disable its stoneskin ability allowing you to kill it. I won’t spoil the surprise but let’s just say the great “Master Clockwork Protocol” isn’t so great. After defeating him/it your reward will be a power gear which will power up Sir Gear Heart for the Princess.

*End*

With the components in hand head back to Master Bowyer Mossberge who will create the bow for you. However the final step of imbueing the bow can only be done by a Koada’dal. Fethinal can be found at -819 71 558 which is by a tree stump near New Tunaria. Here you will find a small hole leading inside the tree stump to Fethinal the Enchanted. Talking to Fethinal he will agree to enchant the bow for you and you will have to make sure to have a free space in your inventory.

With the imbuing completed you will receive an item called “Newly Created Rain Caller Bow” which you will take back to the captain. The captain will be grateful with you returning so quickly with the bow. As he goes to use it though his hand gets burned with him shouting at you asking what you did wrong. It turns out that the bow that Fethinal imbued the bow for your use only. You will have to go kill three dragoons that were turned into werewolves.

These mobs are powerful level 58 ^^^ nameds that become even more powerful when their health drops bellow 50%. Drops to 0% health you will have to use the bow you have in your inventory on them to kill them. It is tricky to do but if you time it right you can nail it. If you don’t get it you may have to rekill the monster to get the update.

  • 1. Dragoon V'Riv: Near the Estate of Unrest -293 182 706 in the Butcherblock Mountains.
  • 2. Dragoon K’Geth: He is ontop of a root around 180 16 -268 Lesser Faydark which can be reached going up the left side of a root at 78 -20 -195 if you’re facing W.
  • 3. Dragoon (L) Captain K’Venx: 320 0 553 in the shadowed grove. Has powerful knock back so have tank put his/her back to the wall to prevent flying.

With the heads in hand head back to Captain Trueshot telling him of your victory. Unfortunately it turns out that you were deceived into killing “Vampire” Trueshot’s enemy. Captain Trueshot a level 60 ^^^ monster will attack you along with 2 separate level 57 ^^ adds. You must kill the adds first then Captain Trueshot because after killing True shot an NPC named Huntmaster Viswin will spawn.

He will be angry that you killed his source of entertainment the vampire rangers and the werewolf dragoons. Viswin will turn on you doing a (no damage) AoE knockback taking your Newly Created Rain Caller Bow. After this a pack of wolves will spawn with a level 60 ^^^ werewolf soldier. You have to kill the pack in order to receive your update for the next part and your final mission.

You will have to head to the Loping Plains *Preferably from Lesser Faydark* and at the beginning steps to Castle Mistmoore you will find Viswin. He is a powerful level 60 epicx2 mob with at least 6 wolf adds that are not epicx2. When you defeat him/it you will complete your quest and be rewarded with the Rain Caller Bow. Along with the bow you will get 60k status with 10% going towards your guild.
