Riddle Of The Vault

This is a lengthy quest involving alot of steps and harvesting.

Your first objective will be to find and examine 4 clues that are located nearby the quest starter. The updates are on the four pillars near the near the start point and appear as a wavy line patterns on the pillars. They will be on the sides of the pillars that face outward from the platform you are on so you will have to be careful in getting these updates. Once you have obtained all the clues that you need your next little mission will be to retrieve four keys to use in the vault.

After the second update you will now have to kill the Herald of Dar who walks a path from the Temple of Scale entrance to a Pyramid structure near the second tree house. Sadly the Herald of Dar drops only one note in a chest so you will have to kill him multiple times if you are in a group to get everyone the update.

This part requires you to go down one level to kill the drakotas that are standing/sitting on their platforms. You will need a black, gold, silver and copper key from the different drakotas on the platforms. For the gold key update you will need to kill a named drakota that spawns on the blackened/silverish platform which is towards the North wall. You may have to kill the drakota PH on the silver platform 9 times to get the named drakota Koturah to spawn so be patient.

With all of the keys in hand head back up to the vault and insert them. Sadly it will take a bit more to open this mysterious vault and to get its unusual contents. Now comes the first of two tedious parts of this quests that will make you want this quest done with quickly. Your objective will be to find fifteen ceremonial darslayer staves then place each one in a respective place. I recommend that you do not evac but start from the gorge pit heading towards the entrance making this alot easier on you and your group.

The first and second staves you need are near the gorge pit entrance on the left and right sides in the little acloves. They maybe guarded by hungry gorges which means you'll have to do a bit of killing to get them out of the way. The next three staves are above the gorge pit entrance on a little lip which is accessible by running up the sides of the wall near the first or second staves you first collected. It will be a sloped wall so you will be able to run up it in order to get these three updates.

With these five staves in hand you will find the next two staves in the pool of spirits room which is nearby your location. When you come to the little four way area you will head down the path that has the blue grate near it where you got the update for A Scalding Hot Encounter. In the pool of spirits room you will find the two ceremonial darslayers located in the pool itself and you will have to go into the pool in order to harvest them. With those two in hand head towards the hall of rites room where you will find the 8th stave.

It will be against the wall that is inbetween the stairs that go down into the pit. Head back to the room where Xhorroz is which is the Fountain of the Awakening room and the stave will be near the master chest icon for the unlocking a chest quest. There maybe some armored guards near the stave so you will have to kill them to get to it.

Past this room you will find the diviner chambers where the next stave is located. This stave will be towards the left wall in the little ditch area with the plants. With that one in hand you will have to gather the others which are located in the chamber of animation near the animator, two in the Oratorium, one in the scaleborn barracks and the final one in the ready room.

With all 15 staves in hand you will have to place them on Vortex points forcing the vault to open. The first two are located at the start in the Mouth of the Sanctum and appear as a swirling designs on the floor. With these two updates in hand you will now head to the Chamber of Animation room where you will see four points in a pit area that is guarded by sentinels. Dispatch the sentinels and walk towards the Vortex points making sure everyone gets the update for the vortex points.

With everyone on the Seventh vortex part head towards the Hall of Rites room where you will get the one on the left first then the one on the right second. You should now be on the ninth vortex point which is located in the room just past the draconic forge. Now that you have the ninth update head towards the gorge pit area where you will scale the west or east wall which ever you prefer.

It here where your last six updates are and where your next quest/mission begins. Before preceeding to the next part I strongly recommend killing most of the gorges in the gorge pit the roaming ones and the ones near the center pillar. It will greatly help out your party because you will not have to fuddle with these guys attacking /rooting/slowing you. You will now go to the column in the center of the gorge pit and examine it to begin your next task. This part is a major pain because it is timed and you have 1min 30seconds in which to do it in. If you have a druid/shaman healer in the group have them sow everyone so that you can quickly run to each face of the wall as needed.

Your first timed task is to find four polychromatic images on each wall in the gorge pit area *hence why it is good to eliminate the gorges.* There are boxes on the wall and you will need to press each one that is loose for the part you are on within the time limit. The first boxes you are looking for will have a dark black circle in the middle of them which makes em easy to spot. I recommend going to the West Wall first pressing that box, then run to the East wall pressing that one with the final two being on the South wall. After this you will now have to press four blocks on each wall face that are for that particular color with the south wall being first and a good reason why you want to end on it.

You will press all of the blocks that do not have the dark circle in the middle of them. Just scan the wall as you go up and if you find a highlightable block press it in for your update. Once you have all of the blocks pressed in do a base jumping technique pressing jump then pressing forward towards the wall to get down quickly as possibly. Head towards the east wall for the next part where you press all of the blocks but the one with the dark circle in the middle.

The final wall will be the west one which is very tricky because there is a block all the way towards the right part near the middle to near top area. This block is hard to see and can be missed very easily so you will want to make sure to do a thorough scan to find it. Your last block on this wall is towards the very tip top of it and once you manage to nail that block you are done with this little exercise.

It may take a couple of tries getting the blocks so I recommend doing a quick memorization of where the blocks are so you can quickly get to them. With all of the blocks pushed in you now head up to the vault in order to claim your reward. Your reward is a legendary piece of chest armor with nice stats for your class and two items that begin your next quest. I won't spoil the next part but it appears Xhorroz wants your head on a platter.

Before you evac out I highly recommend starting your next quest and getting the update in the pool of spirits room. Your next quest is Return to Murrar Shar and is started by examining the note you recieved then examining the crystal.
