Here's is hoping everyone has a happy new year with SWTOR already kicking off some amazing things. To update the news for the site the administrator has removed the MMODomination.com Wiki. This is mainly due to the consumption of bandwith and the lack of documentation to help maintain it. The administrator wanted to use it as a powerful tool to help bring all wikis together under one roof like wikipedia, however at this time it is too strenuousness to accomplish.
As for future updates to MMODomination.com, information is currently being compiled for SWTOR. This information will include hard to find things in game such as area missions, holocron locations, and other misc. things. A full section about crew skills will be added in detailing what each one does, how they work, and what to expect from each one.

*December 28th, 2011* Star Wars The Old Republic officially launched on December 20th, 2011 having a great number of fans following it. With this launch like all MMO gaming launches comes some problems unique to each gaming community. The administrator received a mail from the fansite community director about some of the problems people are experiencing. Here is the one problem the administrator at MMODomination would like to shed some light on.
- We are seeing a lot of people confused about the fact that a subscription is required to play our game. A number of players are not able to play because they have not completed that step of the setup process, and are confused about why the game will not let them login. The requirement for a subscription to be set up before game time begins is normal for subscription based MMOs, and was outlined on packaging as well as on SWTOR.com. As veteran MMO players, we are sure you understand that this is normal, but new MMO players may not understand this process as well, so we are trying to communicate this to them as clearly as possible.
Right now there are two distinct classifications of Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOs). One that many are familiar with is the standard paid subscription service. Just like you receive a bill for your water, power, gas (if you have it), or other services per pay period the same goes for certain MMOs. This bill changes with companies doing 1 month cycles, 3 month cycles, 6 month cycles, or 12 month cycles offering varied rates/discounts. Star Wars The Old Republic is a paid subscription service and when you get the game you must first subscribe. After subscribing the "Free" 30 day subscription kicks in giving you basically 1 month of a free subscription before you start paying.
Now there are games out there MMO and online games which are being called Free To Play (F2P since FTP means File Transfer Protocol). These games have restrictions placed on them but essentially the consumer/player doesn't have to pay for anything. The only time you have to pay for services in these games is usually expansion, access to more content, and/or more time to play the game. EverQuest II is now a F2P game that has restrictions placed on it for those without a constant subscription to the game. Those with a subscription pay for certain exclusive rights/amenities that some may not care about or want.
In short SWTOR is a subscription based service that requires a monthly fee before you can start playing the game. This is completely normal for MMO games and was done prior before things started to become F2P. Hopefully this explanation will clear up any misunderstandings and if anyone has questions about the subscription service of SWTOR they can talk to customer service representatives or CSRs. As always happy gaming to all the players out there and may the force be with you SWTOR players.
Sadly it is on December 15th that Star Wars Galaxies will be shut down permanently. The game was truly an auspicious undertaking providing a great joy to many fans out there. From the Sandbox style gaming and player created cities to open ended experience with no levels and crafted economy it gave a wonderful experience. Hopefully down the road another game will grace gamers with that same experience. Goodbye SWG here's hoping your memories inspire those around you.
