This quest is for the Shiny Brass Halberd which is a decent two handed weapon for the tank classes. This quest isn't too difficult but does require some time, effort as well as some patience in order to complete it. As for soloability the ash owl bears are soloable but there are maybe 7-10 up at a time and the elder ash owl bears are group heroic mobs. If you wish to solo this quest I recommend doing the ash owl bear part when you are atleast 34 depending upon your class. Caster classes should probably do this when they are level 36 if you don't know how to root and nuke.

This quest is obtained from a person named Dragoon K'Naae who is located in the hidden gorge area of Nektulos Forest. His exact location is -1368 29 -1336 in the hidden gorge area. The Thexians may appear hostile to you so you will have to be careful to avoid them but K'Naae should not be hostile and if he is attackable don't attack him. Press H to hail him or your hail button to safely hail him so you can begin this quest. K'Naae will give you some little quip about how he doesn't trust you and with you saying you'll prove your worth he orders you to obtain alot of meat to sustain his people through the winter.

Your first task will be to head out and obtain 60 pieces of high quality ash owl bear meat. The quest has been update since last I have done it and elder ash owl bears as well as mature ash owl bears now count towards the quest. These bears roam the South to South Eastern areas of Nektulos Forest. A good location to look around is -734 75 181 where you should find numerous ash owl bears. If you time this area just right you can get an almost endless onslaught of ash owl bears that should complete this quest in no time flat. Sadly not every ash owl bear you kill will give you an update so you may need to kill many more than the directed amount for the quest. Now after obtaining the 60 pieces of ash owl meat you will head back to K'Naae for your next task.

Giving the meat to K'Naae he will say he is beginning to trust you but you still have a bit to go before you are really trusted. He'll talk about the move to Nektulos forest for his people and how new dangers are presenting themselves to them. He will charge you will killing atleast 60 undead near Nektropos castle and returning their flesh to him as proof. This part has altered alongside Nektulos Forest revamp that occured in a Live Update patch. Crackling Cadavers use to be near the Common Lands entrance and counted towards the 60 undead count. However that is no longer true and you must kill different types of undead in Nektulos to get the 60 count.

If you have access to the griffon tower I recommend heading to N'Mar's Ascent where you will spot zombies called "a rotting follower of Grelkor". These zombies will count towards the 60 count and if you time it right you can get an almost endless supply of them. These guys are group heroic mobs so they are pretty powerful and are also shadowknight class having a damage ward buff as well as a damage shield they can cast. Camp Leelot which is at 100 61 -1454 has creatures called "a scavenging ghoul" that work just as well. These are soloable creatures with a few high end solo mobs but are good if you cannot kill the grelkor zombies. Again it may take several kills above the mentioned 60 in order to complete this part of the quest. After obtaining the 60 undead piece of flesh return to Dragoon K'Naae for your next task.

You will have to run to Behemoth pond in Nektulos forest to get K'Naae a drink of Water. I recommend going to location -196 1 -223 in the behemoth pond then running quickly back to the griffon tower. Touching the water in the pond a timer will start which will count down which will give you only 9 minutes to return the water to K'Naae. If you go from the Common Lands griffon tower to N'Mar's Ascent passing by the grelkor followers you should make it with no problem. You may have to use invisibility to get by some parts so make sure to have some Totem of the Chamelon "aka Chamy totems" on hand.

Returning the water to Dragoon K'Naae he will tell you about what he is doing there and the priceless halberd he took from an orc clan. K'Naae says that if you can recover the halberd from the rival who took it Captain T'Sanne you will be made his ally. Captain T'Sanne is located in the Dragoon Citadel which is to the left side path as you come out of the hidden beach entrance coming from Nektulos Docks. The exact location of the citadel is 674 0 -720. You will need to kill 2 groups of sekeletons first then T'Sanne should appear. If not it may take up to 9 of these 2 groups in order to make T'Sanne spawn so be prepared. Captain T'Sanne is not an easy mob and is level 30 with two minions. I recommend a full group if you do not have atleast 3 members that are above level 34. Killing Captain T'Sanne will update your quest with you having to return back to K'Naae.

Returning to K'Naae you cause some assassins to spawn and will cause K'Naae to become attackable. Be sure not to AoE attack him, if he attacks one of your group members have them go off having another root him. Once you kill the assassins run off K'Naae and you can complete your quest if you accidentally attacked him. After defeating the assassins Dragoon K'Naae will tell you he is thankful for you defending his life and that he doesn't want to owe a debt to you so he awards you the Shiny Brass Halberd as a reward. You will also recieve 27900 status upon completion of this quest as well. Congratz you have completed the Shiny Brass Halberd quest.
