The Reaching Blade Of The Assassin

This quest isn't particularly long however you should do this in a group because of the difficult mobs it involves. Also there is a level restriction on this and you can't start it until you are 35 or 36. It starts from a distraught little halfling who is on the beach in the Enchanted Lands. Leelav Yekl will tell you there is nothing to stop this group of assassins that are out to take his life. You persuade him that you can help out and will find these assassins taking them out before they get him.

Your first stop is west Freeport where you will visit the local inn seeing where the assassin might be striking him down first. If you are Qeynosian this part can be rather difficult since the revamp of the two major cities and I recommend using the sewer system. The west Freeport sewer entrance will take you right near the inn as well so it will be a bit of a bonus. Now on the little deck area a halfling named Kreglebop Yekl will tell you where to head next. It appears that the assassin has fled to Qeynos and is tracking down Leelav very quickly.

The Qeynos update is particularly difficulty because there are two level 70 ^^^ epicx4 guards that roam around. However these can be avoided for the Freeport folk and if you time it right you can sneak in the NQ inn located near the NQ to SQ gateway. Again I recommend using the sewer system especially with this part because the sewers will be needed for the next update. When you get inside this area you will need to head downstairs through the secret curtain entrance in the 1 of 3 little rooms. You will need to talk to Lodo Bightn who will tell you there maybe some clues inside the Crypt of Betrayal. After getting this information you will sneak back out and head down into the sewer system then to the 2nd sewer system. After reaching the 2nd sewer system you will head to the third and final sewer system named the Crypt of Betrayal.

The Crypt of Betrayal part is particularly difficult because you will need to reach a check point around +72 +7 +20 which will spawn some hired thugs. The two thugs are level 38+ ^^^ creatures that will have assassin skills so be prepared. After taking care of these two underlings you'll get a piece of information off of them in the form of a worn note. The note will tell you to head to windstalker village where you will receive your next update. Windstalker village can be easily reached using the Qeynos Griffon tower to the Oracle tower then the Oracle tower to the Steppes Station jumping off near the Aqueduct *the water bridge structure.* You'll head into the tavern and to the left of the entrance inside the tavern you'll find a table. Walking around a bit you will find a crudely scrawled parchment which will tell you to head to the Thundering Steppes Docks.

It is here where the action picks up and you will have to fight a level 37 ^^^ lamia creature with 2-3 adds called enthralled warriors. With the lamia and her charmed pets dead you'll receive your next update telling you to head to Rivervale. The place you need to head to in Rivervale is the building with the water wheel which is around -541 -1 -192. You will want to have your group's tank enter the structure because when he/she does a group of lamias will spawn. After killing this group of badies you will now have to run back to Leelav warning him about the attack. I will have to double check but I believe this step is timed and you have 5 to 10 min in which to warn him so you have to be quick.

When you reach Leelav and hail him two to three assassins will spawn beginning the battle. Whoever hailed Leelav will be tagged with a Leelav pet and I suggest you try to keep him out of this battle because if he dies you fail. Also make sure you do not AoE because it could possibly affect Leelav making him turn on you or killing him. Once you manage to dispatch these minions you will talk to Leelav once more completing the quest. He will say there is an item in Nektropos Castle that he wants kept secret which is the Guise of the Deceiver. This item is the reward from the A Missing Mask heritage quest you do solely in Nektropos Castle.
