The Return Of The Light

Return of the light is a low level quest that rewards a minor amount of status along with some experience. If you have the kingdom of sky expansion pack this quest will also award a significant amount of AA points upon completion. Below is the most current up to date information that I have on hand about this heritage quest.

To start this quest you must first locate the creature known as the "Light Bringer Wisp" who is located in the Common Lands. The Light Bringer Wisp will appear as a small glowing ball and can be seen around 563 -59 -50 which is near the druid ring. This mob is very easy to defeat and is easily solo able being a level 17 mob (__) in nature. After killing the wisp you will loot the burnt out light stone from the corpse and will examine it to begin this quest.

Your first objective will be to find a person who can help you understand the significance of the item. The person you need to locate is Crannix Silverflame who is near the Overlords outpost in the Common Lands. He will be standing near a tree that is close to a stream and if you have trouble locating him look around at -308 0 -360.

After finding Crannix and being to converse with him he will tell you a bit about the Light stone. He mentions that it maybe a special artifact and sends you out to test if it is indeed the real thing. You will need to located two statues and touch the light stone to them. These two statues are the forgotten and the mourned statues located in the common lands. The forgotten statue is located at +170 -45 +260 and the mourned statue is at -592 -49 -630.

You will then need to head back to Crannix and upon returning to him you will be rewarded for your effort with an item. It is a small token of gratitude and not the true ending reward of the quest itself. Crannix will now ask you to head out and find the wandering lion known as Rama'nai. Rama'nai is a semi rare spawn that has a place holder that must be killed if he is not up. The place holder is a wandering pride lioness that roams around the same area you found the light bringer wisp. It may take up to 9 kills of the place holder to spawn Rama'nai so be prepared for a camp out. Rama'nai is not an easy kill so I recommend bring a good group if you are below level 32.

After you have managed to kill Rama'nai your quest will update and again you will need to return to Crannix. You will receive another token of gratitude and be asked another deed to help to strengthen the power of the light stone. The task is killing two powerful orc commanders one being named Captain Gaer and the other being Captain Ogof. After a recent update of the Common Lands these two NPCs and their place holders have been moved. Near the mountain area near the orc encampment you will see entrances into little valleys. In those valley entrances from the orc encampments is where you will find the place holders for the two captains. Sergeant Reag is the place holder for Captain Gaer and Sergeant Fogo is the place holder for Captain Ogof. The exact location for Reag is -849 -47 677 and the exact location for Fogo is -479 -47 674 Again it may take up to 9 kills to make the two captains spawn so be prepared for a bit of a camp out if this happens. Your stone is nearly complete and only requires two more tasks after killing the two captains.

Returning to Crannix he will send you out to kill a named skeleton called the Priest of Val'mar. The initial location of this NPC has moved and he no longer spawns near a tree stump but instead spawns atop a small little outpost. The exact location is at 384 -47 233 in the common lands and you will need to kill all the skeletons around that location to spawn the named skeleton. There are two sets at the bottom outside the small structure then two more inside the structure. Again this maybe a camp out where you will have to kill these skeletons at least 9 times to force the named to spawn so don't become discouraged.

Now comes the final task you must undergo in order to complete your light stone. You will have to head to bloodskull valley and kill a general that is located within the instanced zone. This location is near the orc encampment and is accessible by going through one of the little valley ways in the side of the mountain. There use to be an access quest that was attached to the zone however it was changed in one of the Live Update patches. You will now see a Freeport person outside blooodskull valley who is working for the overlord. He will give you a key that will enable you to access the zone "Maulic'sStronghold" which is the one you want. The exact location for the Blood Skull Valley entrance doors is -2 -48 728 and Amulius Ramio the freeportian you need to talk to is at 24 -46 724. Again make sure to go into the "Maulic's Stronghold" instanced version.

I highly recommend you bring at least 3 other people with you if you are below level 40 because there will be alot of monster waves. These waves having powerful 20-23 ^, ^^, and ^^^ monsters in it that can quickly dispatch you if your not prepared. It will be a mana fight because you can quickly run out if you do not pace yourself. Upon entering make sure the first person to enter buys you some precious time by killing the orc scout and if he doesn't it isn't a loss but you'll be attacked quicker than normal. After 3 to 5 waves a named will spawn and after that named you will encounter the general. Luckily you just need to kill the general and not the entire group so you can zone out if you want. Make sure however that you get the update because if you don't and you kill the named you may inadvertently be locked out for a while without being able to complete the quest.
