Executioner's Throne Room (Pawbuster)

Zone Walkthrough/Information

This raid is a bit of a pain even for experienced raiders if they do not know what they are up against. The zone is just like The Tomb Of Thuuga in that it has one named and it is this named that drops the treasure for the entire zone. It's good to have your party equipped with the Drolvarg Master Smite spell or attack ability to get an extra boost of damage. To start off you'll head down to the basement in Karnor's Castle and and click on the throne to open up a passage way into the executioner's throne room instance. You will have to becareful upon entering this zone because you can easily step backwards and zone out of it.

Once inside the zone you will start clearing the roaming drolvarge trash which is usually level 81x4-82x4 epic creatures. The only hard part about the roamers is that they have an AoE attack that can do some serious damage to the cloth and leather wearers. There's 2-3 mobs inside the main area where you first zone in and 2-4 mobs inside the second room where the executioner is located. The last mobs are down in the lower area of the second room which has 2-4 more drolvargs and an epicx2 wyrm.

You will need to carefully pull each mob in the second room making sure not to aggro the main boss. The last mobs in the lower bloody area will be the most difficult since there's a decent chance they can call on the executioner for assistance. However if you have an experienced MT this shouldn't be a problem at all.

With the area cleared up you now have 2 strategies/ways to defeat the executioners. The first way is to pull him ontop of the grate and keep him there until you whittle his health down to the required 18-19% or you can pull him against a wall. Using the wall method will help deal with the knockback, but it does mean you will have to transition him over to the grate then have him hit it to break the lock. Either method works, but the second method requires some finesse and can cause problems.

Unfortunately the amount of times required for the lock to break are random unless an update has fixed this. It has broken in 2-3 strikes while sometimes it can take up to 4-6 hits before it breaks. The lock must be struck directly by the executioner's hammer and you must see the little script saying the executioner's hammer has chipped the lock. If he misses the lock it will not reset it because all lock strikes are cumulative to the correct amount necessary to break it.

When he hits 18% it is usually best to send up a ranger to do long range attacks or a caster class to pull the leaver. If you pull the leaver and he is not ontop of it just reposition him to get him to fall into the hole. You will eventually get him into it and end turning him into a fine chili style mush.

As a Final note whenever someone dies he will heal up by 2% and will gain a buff. This buff reduces the damage done to him and increases his strength by 2%. If he gets more than 10-15 of these buffs on him it will be very difficult to still continue. You can wipe if necessary and restart the encounter to clear the buffs on him. *Note: Supposedly there is a bug where if you wipe the buffs will not clear off of him and he will have these for the next encounter. One solution to this is to have someone leave the raid then aggro him die then let him reset on his own.*
