Lord Trakanon

Zone Walkthrough/Information

This is probably the toughest creature during Kunark before The Shadow of Odyessy was released. Only creature tougher than Trakanon was The Tangrin in the Fens of Nathir near Kurn's Tower.

For this fight YOU MUST HAVE the chelsith stone which is a reward from killing the Leviathan. It will activate a tower behind Trakanon that will negate some of his Area of Effect abilities that he casts. Trakanon is a warlock type creature and will naturally cast disease and poison based attacks. If you do not have atleast 10k+ resistance to these types of attacks you may get one shotted.

You will position your raid force near the orb tower behind trakanon and when you are ready have your MT pull Trakanon. During the fight Trakanon will cast impairments on your raid party that will do a variety of effects. One impairment will cause a party member to jump around and knock back people that are near that party member. Make sure to have your raid members watching their impairment meters and when they get this on them have them move away from the rest of the raid force. (The symbol looks like a golden hourglass and is called Mark of Repulsion) *Note: Mark Of Repulsion will always be on a raid member and when it wears off one it will almost instantly go on another so be aware.*

Another impairment he casts is a stifle effect that will prevent people from casting any abilities. This stifle effect is incurable, but is possibly negated by an anti-stifle ability thrown up in time. A third ability he casts during the fight will cause one person to deal damage onto themselves when they casts spells, use abilities and what not. Ontop of this the ability/impairment will drain mana every time that it activates leaving a person at 0% mana. The fourth impairment trakanon can cast on a raid member is an interrupt ability "Prophetic Scrutiny" that activates when the person gets near 90% completion on casting an spell or using an ability. This can be negated with buffs that make casting un-interruptable or prevent a person from being stunned. Warlocks have this ability along with Druids/Wardens in their AA lines.

During the fight Trakanon will also cast poison and disease based AoEs which must be cured. If they are not cured or prepared for they can quickly kill an unprepared raid force. The two abilities are Fetid Cloud and Toxic Tempest and if you have Toxic Tempest on you when Fetid Cloud hits you will be hit for additional damage. Unfortunately another AoE attack of Trakanons will cause a random item in your inventory to be damaged. Also if you are not near the Tower when the AOE goes off "Arcane Maelstrom" you will be hit for a huge amount of damage possibly one shotting the raid force.

Constantly throughout the fight Trakanon will have a buff on him that on 10% of attacks will place an impairment on the player. This impairment will reduce attack speed, cause their spells/abilities to be 1/2 their normal effectiveness including heals, and cause the time to cast spells/abilities to be 2x as long. Healers will want to avoid attacking Trakanon unless they have a debuff like the warden's elemental debuff reducer. With a recent update only the first initial strick of the elemental debuffer has a chance to trigger Trakanon's buff "Arcane Aura Of The Worymlord" and the ticks after that first one won't count.

Trakanon also has two attacks that will knock you back and stun you if you are not close enough to the Orb that is activated. If you are close enough to the orb you won't be knocked back and will only suffer a stun effect along with some damage. Sadly this fight is also timed and you will only have about 600-800seconds until the platform you are on drops into the lava below. Once it does drop into the lava you still start taking addition damage ontop of the damage Trakanon is sending your way.

If you defeat Trakanon before you hit the lava or right as you hit the lave the platform will rise and you will claim your treasure.
