Protector's Realm
This is the final Tier 1 raid within the Tier 8 rank of Kunark. Most raiders choose to do this zone first to stock up on gear then attempt the other Tier 1 zones. There are 7 total encounters within this zone and about 9 nameds to kill for AA xp. On your way to the Protector's Realm there maybe a guardian named standing infront of the doorway. He is relatively easy if you have a solid group to take him down and offers up some nice drops.
Once inside PR you'll need a healer along with the main tank to head towards the back room and make a right where you'll see a group of adventurers. Have the healer revive their fallen comrade and after some text you'll receive a staff to collect the 4 shards of the skeletons. With this done head into the first door/room off to the right and have the main raid force stand off to one corner's side and the MT off to another opposite of the creature. Give the staff to the main tank and have him/her walk towards each skeleton to trigger the encounter.
All of the four skeletons will have two guards with them and one of them will be a Hierophant. You will want to take out the Hierophant target first since it will heal the skeleton then the other skeleton. Both skeletal guards are suseptible to the skeletal master strike ability like their masters.
Iztapa Vyx is very easy and you only have to watch out for the death touch ability that it will do to the main tank. This is easily prevented with a life save or another tank using intercede to take the blow. Timing the death touch is tricky, but it usually comes around every 25-30 seconds during the fight. Having a solid raid force with 45k dps is deffinately good, but having 55-60k+ dps is better.
After you defeat Iztapa head to the next room on the right and repeat the same strategy as above getting into the corners and having the MT pull the skeleton. However with Wymbulu Vyx during the course of the battle it will cast a powerful AoE every 20-30 seconds. This AoE can easily kill cloth wearers along with other raid members that arn't sufficiently buffed up. Have your party move out towards the Coffin where the skeleton ran from to avoid the AoE. Again if you have a solid raid force with great dps this fight will go by rather quickly.
Once you have defeated Wymbulu head towards the far room where Zykluk Vyx is located. This Skeleton will give you the most trouble since it has an AoE fear attack that does a good bit of damage even if you have high resists to poison/disease. Make sure your party moves to the back coffin like you did with Wymbulu to avoid the AoE fear. The first priority here is to cure the Main Tank then cure the healers of the main tank. With all of them cured resume curing the other members that were afflicted by the fear.
Last skeleton named Adkar Vyx can be difficult or easy depending upon what classes you have in your raid setup. Unfortunately this skeleton has a nasty stifle effect that is AoE raid wide and cannot be avoided. Having a healer or other class with an ability to nullify stifle effects or AoE immunity abilities will help out alot with this fight. Other than the stifle effect this skeleton isn't any harder or easier than the previous skeletons.
For all the skeletons it is best to have the skeleton master smite ability and if you have gear that hurts undead this will be a bonus as well.
